In the voting for 4 Rajya Sabha seats in Odisha, three Congress MLAs did cross voting. These MLAs are Ramesh Jena, Dasarathi Gomango, and Sofia Firdous.
These three Congress leaders voted for independent candidate Dilip Ray, who was supported by BJP.
Because of this, the joint candidate of Congress and BJD, Dr. Datt eshwar Hota, lost the election in Odisha.
